Viking Yacht Co. is launching a new model, the Viking 82, to commemorate the builder’s 60th anniversary.
The five-stateroom, six-head sportfish will debut later this year at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
“Early on, my father drove home the point that Viking was about building a better boat every day, and uncle Bob insisted that we like the view from the top of the mountain and plan to stay there,” president and CEO Pat Healey, Bill Healey’s son, said in a statement. “On our 60th anniversary, the co-founders’ statements are stronger than ever.”
Viking was founded in 1964 with a winter storage shed on 17 acres in New Gretna, N.J. Today, the campus covers nearly a quarter mile with five manufacturing lines. The company also has manufacturing in Mullica, N.J.
The builder continues to be family-run, with the second and third generation of the Healey family leading Viking into its next decade. Viking includes sister companies Valhalla Boatworks, Princess Yachts America, Valhalla Boat Sales, Atlantic Marine Electronics, Viking Yacht Service Center, Palm Beach Towers and Viking Yachting Center.
The company said it has built more than 5,500 boats. |
